DAILY DRIVER TAKES OUT BURNOUT MASTERS
Brand new VE SS Commodore, drives to Burnout Masters, beats up on it, wins event…
THEN DRIVES HOME?!?!? AWESOME!
In a night littered with fires, copious tyre smoke and blown radiators, first-time competitor Jody Dunford blitzed the competition with his angry sounding 470hp VE SS to take out top honours for the 4th annual West Coast Burnout Masters.
In doing so, Dunford not only kept the defending Burnout Master champion, Brandon Mitchell, to second place but found himself outscoring some of Perth’s best burnout exponents.
Not bad, considering he didn’t even know he’d been entered until the day of the event!
FEAR pilot Fred Watson had made a bet with Jody the previous night over drinks, but even he wasn’t prepared for Jody’s success.
“I suspected he’d make the top five, but for him to win it was great!”
In a truly ferocious effort (with his girlfriend in the passenger seat), Jody punted the wild 6 litre SS around the Hankook Tyres Snakepit, blowing both bags and smashing the rear bumper from his immaculate ride.
But it was all worth it for the huge crowd reaction and the prize of $2,500 as well as the Champions jacket, a trophy and a $200 Exide battery.
